CRHS Collectables

These items are made from the maple wood that was the gym floor from 1969 to 2009 and rescued from being thrown away. The gym floor was replaced as part of the current renovation of the school.

Collectable items shown here support the Colonel Richardson High School Alumni Association.

The ballpoint twist pen features titanium hardware and Cross-style refills.

Antler Pens

The gym floor squares measure approximately 2 3/8 inches square by 1 inch thick.

"Variations & Iterations"

A tree of curly maple and wire rises out of a field of big leaf maple burl and is laden with turned ornaments. The ornament globes showcase a variety of maple features including curly, ambrosia, birdseye, spalted, and burl. The finials and caps are turned from maple flooring salvaged from the renovation of the local high school gymnasium. Finishes include dye, stain, paint, fingernail polish, and lacquer.

The ornaments weigh from 0.46 ounces ( 13 grams) to 0.67 ounces ( 19 grams) with an average weight of 0.55 ounces ( 15.6 grams). Each ornament is approximately 2 1/16” in diameter by 5 5/8” in length.
